Hi, my name is Rachel Finch (she/her)! As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, I am deeply passionate and dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, families, and adults who are navigating the challenges of PTSD and complex trauma, ADHD, autism, co‑occurring disorders, family conflict and divorce/separation, grief and loss, attachment trauma, childhood sexual abuse, anxiety, and mood disorders. I provide both individual and family therapy, as well as Parent Management Training, to promote positive family dynamics, strengthen meaningful connections, and cultivate sustainable change at home.
My educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree in Counseling, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, from the University of San Diego. I also bring former experience working with clients impacted by the justice and legal system, including supporting youth with gang involvement, youth facing serious mental illness (SMI), and youth with co‑occurring conduct and substance use disorders. Since graduating, I continuously strive to advance my education with trainings focused on evidenced-based treatment approaches for complex trauma and Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism.
I approach therapy with the belief that even in our most difficult moments, we have the ability to create meaning, foster hope for the future, and thrive with purpose. Grounded in a trauma-informed and strengths‑based Positive Psychology framework, I help clients recognize and leverage their inherent strengths as part of shaping challenges into meaningful personal growth. I draw from evidence‑based approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Trauma‑Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF‑CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Somatic Psychology and Mindfulness‑based practices to provide effective, individualized care to each client’s specific goals and needs.
My hope is to provide a safe, compassionate, and warm space where clients feel understood and empowered as we collaborate together to transform adversity into resilience, develop effective coping strategies, deepen insight and self‑acceptance, and build a life rooted in lasting well‑being.
