PEERS is an evidence-based program from UCLA that teaches concrete social skills-and gives parents the tools to support their teen at home.
Who's it for?
Students age 8- 11 who want to build stronger friendships
Parents who want practical strategies to help their child succeed socially
Over 8 weeks, students will learn how to:
Start and maintain conversations
Find a source of friends- and enter play
Good sportsmanship
Handle teasing and rejection
Stay in their own space and strategies to handle conflict
At the same time, parents will learn how to:
Coach their child in real life social situations
Support practice at home and in the community
Troubleshoot common challenges
