Does your child struggle to make or keep friends?
PEERS is an evidence-based social skills program developed at UCLA that teaches concrete, research-supported strategies for making and keeping friends. Students learn practical social skills through instruction, role-playing, and guided practice, while parents receive coaching and tools to help reinforce these skills at home and support real-world success.
Who's it for?
Students age 8-13 who want to build stronger friendships and are interested in enrolling in the upcoming PEERS 8 week social skills program
Parents who want practical strategies to help their child succeed socially
Over 8 weeks, students will learn how to:
Start and maintain conversations
Join and exit peer groups smoothly
Plan and join get togethers with their friends
Demonstrate good sportsmanship
At the same time, parents will learn how to:
Coach their child in real life social situations
Support practice at home and in the community
Troubleshoot common challenges
